Goodbye

Goodbye Green Class, I have loved teaching you for the past year and will miss you all.  I hope you have a fantastic time in Purple Class and enjoy being Juniors.  Be good for your new teacher, I’ll pop in and see you every time I am at Lauriston.

Thank you for your lovely presents,

Carley’s leaving party

Thursday 12th July was Carley’s last day.  She is a student teacher from the Institute of Education and has been teaching Green Class 80% of the time since May.  She did an excellent job and has passed with flying colours.  We wish her all the best in her first job; Year 5 at Rush Green Junior School.  We will miss her and her patient, calm, humorous personality.

William made this cake for her…

Sock Puppet silliness

During Science week, we learnt how to reduce, reuse and recycle things.  We made sock puppets, and did role-plays offering advice about how to follow these steps.

Weather watch…

Please make sure that you are approprtiately dressed for this hot weather. Shoulders must be covered, wear a hat and sun-protection. Drink lots of water and play in the shade if you can.

Bring in an old sock

As part of Science week, we are learning about our environment, in school and in the wider world. So far, we have been thinking about what we can do to protect the environment and how we can reduce, re-use and recycle things. On Wednesday, we are going to make sock puppets. We will be learning about ‘food miles’, working with Eco Active as litter detectives and having a session with the architects about the new school using a computer programme called ‘Sketch’.

Please bring in an old sock or two so we can re-use them and turn them into puppets!
